The Leonard Peltier Freedom Campaign-DC calls on all those of conscience to participate in act of solidarity at midday on Sunday, 18 December. At that time, the Leonard Peltier Walk for Human Rights will be leaving from Alcatraz Island, bound for Washington, DC. We ask you to take a moment to reflect on the Centuries in which Human Rights abuses were suffered by the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas, and those who continue to be denied Human Rights throughout the World.

      Thank you.

  18. Linda Lou Eckert says:

I have non stop advocated to free Leonard Paltier for 40 years. At the time I believe Green Peace declared him to be the only political prisoner held captive in America. I am glad to see he is still alive. The last I wrote him in Levenworth Kansas around 2001. He was not is good health. My own psysician Dr. Gary Campblee a Do moved to Levenworth to practice at the prison and hoped to help Leonard. I would love to really hear what he does have to say after all these years. They are now FRACKing the heck out of the Black Hills, maybe he can be of some help now. Gail Small needs all the help she can get.

I’ve got a “Free Leonard” pin that I’ve had for over 30 yrs… I never thought this fight would still be continuing over 30 yrs later… :(
I had hope, and still do, but time seems to be taking it’s toll.
Not sure if the walk will be going through San Diego county, but if so… I WILL be there!

  22. FREEWAY SOUL says:

I live in SF and will be able to host two folks who need a place to stay for the weekend. All I have is a couch and and the carpet (with sleeping pad)but we can make it work. It”s better then a motel. Also I will be attending the Opening Ceremony’s on Alcatraz on Sunday the 18th and I have one extra ferry ticket. Email me, but you will need to let me know soon.

  23. Lorenzo Komboa Ervin says:

I was in prison with Leonard Peltier at the Marion, IL. Federal Pen. What a tremendous warrior he is, along with the now deceased Standing Deer. I wish I could be there for him now in this demonstration, but advanced age and poor health prevent it. I will just say that as long as Leonard has sincere supporters and comrades on the outside putting pressure on the government, it increases the possibility of this gov’t having to release him. I had two life sentences, was a former member of the Black Panther Party, and served 15 years in prison. Were it not for my own international defense committee, I would still be in federal prison right now. It is not the state that determines how long he remains in prison, I am convinced, but the protest level of his supporters who pressure the U.S. gov’t. A clenched fist for Leonard Peltier! Keep up the struggle for his release.
